Project estimate structure

Pricing method

Start with your hourly or day-rate floor from the freelance rate calculator. Then add a risk buffer for unclear scope, urgent timelines, stakeholder complexity, and delayed approvals.

Example

A project expected to take 4 delivery days at AED 2,000/day has a raw value of AED 8,000. With a 20% buffer for discovery, meetings, and revisions, the estimate becomes AED 9,600 before any extra scope.

Before sending the estimate

Turn the worksheet into a client-ready estimate only after the scope is written clearly enough that both sides know what is included, what is excluded, and what triggers a paid change request.

Estimate-to-quote handoff

Before the estimate becomes a quote, convert the rough planning fields into client-facing terms. This is where most quote drama can be prevented, which is cheaper than becoming a professional WhatsApp archaeologist later.

Use the project quote checklist to catch missing assumptions before the client sees the number.

Quick FAQ

What should a UAE freelance project estimate include?

Include the client name, project outcome, included deliverables, excluded work, assumptions, timeline, milestones, revision limits, price, payment schedule, and validity period.

How should freelancers handle unclear scope?

Write unclear scope as an assumption or exclusion before pricing. If the work is still uncertain, add a risk buffer or quote a paid discovery step before committing to a fixed project price.

What should I check before turning an estimate into a quote?

Check that deliverables, exclusions, milestones, payment timing, approval owner, revision cap, and out-of-scope pricing are written before sending a client-ready quote.

Is this financial advice?

No. The worksheet is a practical planning aid for organizing scope, timeline, revisions, and pricing inputs. It is not financial, tax, or legal advice.
